Our Berry Bramble is a truly unique cocktail, with distinctive flavours from across the full range of berries, but focused on raspberry and blackberry. Along with the fruits and currants, you’ll also get hints of vanilla and caramelised sugar. This all combines to create something not unlike the tanginess of a refresher sweet – that tangy sherbet flavour giving you a slight fizzing feeling on your tongue. Unforgettable!

Instructions

Fill shaker with ice and add cocktail
Shake vigorously for 20 seconds
Fill rocks glass with ice and strain cocktail
Garnish with crushed raspberries

The story behind the drink

The Bramble emerged onto the scene in the 1980s, courtesy of a renowned bartender named Dick Bradsell in London. Bradsell, known for his creativity, crafted this cocktail when he wanted to create something truly British and is a sort of tribute to the wild blackberry bushes he encountered during his childhood. The Bramble is a refreshing combination of gin, blackberry liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and a hint of simple syrup. Its exquisite blend of sweet and tart flavors, coupled with a visually stunning presentation, quickly made it a hit among cocktail enthusiasts. Our variant replaces the blackberry liqueur with black raspberry liqueur, adding complex mixed berry and herbal flavours to the concoction.

The ingredients

Our Berry Bramble is made with Moatwood Gin, a light and smooth English gin produced in Suffolk using wild-foraged starflower from its 2,500-acre regenerative farm. Its delicate floral character and subtle notes of sweet orange make a natural partner for the rich fruit flavours in this cocktail. We combine it with black raspberry liqueur, dark berry notes and fresh lemon juice, balancing sweetness and sharpness for a bright, fruity take on the classic Bramble.
